COURSE CURRICULUM

The dental program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of dental science, clinical practice, and patient care over three years of study. In Year 1, students focus on foundational subjects such as biomedical sciences, human disease, and plaque-related diseases, providing them with a solid understanding of the scientific principles underlying dental practice. This year also includes an introduction to the essential skills required for effective practice in the dental field. Year 2 expands on this knowledge by introducing more specialized topics such as dental biomaterials, pain and anxiety control, paediatric dentistry, and dental radiography. These subjects allow students to gain a deeper understanding of clinical techniques, particularly in managing pain and treating younger patients, and the use of diagnostic imaging in dentistry. In Year 3, students integrate their knowledge into real-world practice with modules on integrated patient care and oral disease, preparing them for the complex responsibilities they will encounter as dental professionals. The year also includes a focus on dental research, where students explore the latest scientific advancements, and an elective project, which allows them to specialize in an area of interest. By the end of the program, students will have acquired the technical expertise and practical experience required to provide high-quality dental care and contribute to advancements in the field of dentistry.
