COURSE CURRICULUM

The Social Science degree program offers students a well-rounded education across multiple disciplines, including history, politics, sociology, criminology, and economics. In Year 1, students begin with foundational modules in each of these areas, giving them a broad understanding of the key concepts and frameworks that underpin social science studies. This introductory year sets the stage for deeper exploration in later years.In Year 2, students build upon the knowledge gained in Year 1 by taking more advanced modules in the disciplines they studied previously. This year allows them to deepen their understanding of the subject matter and develop specialized knowledge in their areas of interest.Year 3 introduces a research methods module, equipping students with the necessary tools for conducting independent research. They can also choose from five modules, allowing them to tailor their studies based on the disciplines they want to focus on. This year is designed to help students refine their critical thinking and analytical skills.In Year 4, students complete an Honours Dissertation, allowing them to conduct in-depth research on a topic of their choice within the social sciences. They also take four modules from one or more of the disciplines studied in Year 3, enabling them to specialize further or broaden their knowledge across different areas. This structure ensures that students graduate with both a comprehensive understanding of social science and the ability to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts.
