COURSE CURRICULUM

Modules such as Global Challenges for Business and Society, Principles of Marketing, and Introduction to Tourism and Event Studies offer insight into the broader context of the industry, while Introduction to Digital Image Creation and Fundamentals of Managing People help develop practical and managerial skills.In Year 2, the focus shifts to understanding current trends and operational aspects of the tourism and event sectors. Modules such as Trends in Tourism and The Event Industry and Typologies explore evolving consumer behaviour and event classifications. Tourism and Event Operations and Digital Content Creation develop technical competencies, while Fundamentals of Financial Management introduces students to key financial principles for business decision-making.Year 3 offers deeper engagement with the strategic and experiential elements of tourism and events. Destination Developing Management and Marketing, along with Tourism and Event Policy and Development, focus on planning and promoting destinations and crafting impactful policies. The Event Planning and Delivery module is centred around a live project, the Festival of the Common Good, giving students valuable hands-on experience. Management Accounting for Decision Makers supports students in making informed business decisions.In the final year, the emphasis is on professional readiness and critical analysis. Graduate Talent Employability helps students prepare for careers, while Critical Issues in Tourism and Events addresses contemporary challenges in the field. Students complete an independent Tourism and Events Final Project, showcasing their research and analytical abilities. The final module, Networking and Negotiation for Tourism and Events, equips students with interpersonal skills essential for success in this dynamic and collaborative industry.
