COURSE CURRICULUM

The finance and investment program is structured over four years and is designed to build a comprehensive understanding of financial systems, investment strategies, and ethical leadership within the global financial landscape. In the first year, students are introduced to the foundational principles of finance and economics through core modules such as Global Challenges for Business and Society, Regulating Financial Services, Financial Markets Environment, Fundamentals of Economics, Fundamentals of Financial Management for Decision Makers, and Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis. These modules provide essential knowledge of financial systems and decision-making tools. In the second year, the focus shifts to more specific areas of finance, with modules like Personal Investment, Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, Ethics and Responsible Leadership, Fundamentals of Financial Technology, Bank Management in a Global Context, and Macroeconomics. This stage helps students develop technical skills in managing investments and understanding broader economic forces, while also addressing the growing importance of financial technology and responsible leadership in global banking. The third year continues this progression with more advanced study in Corporate Finance and Financial Strategies, Financial Modelling and Risk Analysis, Sustainable Finance, Financial Capability, Skills and Employability, and Principles of Insurance. These modules integrate financial theory with real-world applications, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and risk management in modern finance. In the final year, students complete an Honours Research Project, applying their analytical skills to a focused area of financial study. Additional core modules include Managing Risk in Financial Institutions, International Finance, Institutions and Trade, and Investment Management Theory, which deepen students’ understanding of global markets and advanced investment strategies. Across all four years, the program balances theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing graduates for careers in investment banking, financial analysis, risk management, fintech, and related areas in both domestic and international contexts.
