COURSE CURRICULUM

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management MSc is structured in three progressive stages designed to build a comprehensive skillset for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators. In Stage One, students focus on Product Ideation and Sustainable Practice. The Product Ideation module introduces techniques for developing sustainable business concepts that create value both economically and environmentally. Students apply design thinking principles such as ideation and prototyping to real-world business challenges, exploring various innovation approaches—incremental, radical, and disruptive—and understanding their implications. The Sustainable Practice module introduces sustainability frameworks, including the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and challenges students to assess the sustainability of businesses through audits and personal sustainability planning. Stage Two centres on Innovation Product Development and Business Management. Students learn to test and validate business concepts using customer feedback to develop minimum viable products, while also engaging with entrepreneurial frameworks like lean start-up and the innovation matrix. They explore different innovation forms—iterative, radical, sustainable, and transformational. The Business Management module equips students with essential strategic and financial skills, including the interpretation of financial documents such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, to inform effective decision-making, pricing strategies, and intellectual property protection. In Stage Three, students undertake a Final Major Project where they integrate their learning to deliver a practice-led research project. This project can be a new venture, a solution for an existing organisation, or an innovative approach to a real-world challenge. It is designed to reflect students’ strategic understanding, creativity, and practical capabilities within a clearly defined context. This final stage enables them to demonstrate their entrepreneurial mindset, ethical awareness, and readiness to innovate responsibly in today’s fast-changing business environment. The course as a whole cultivates resilient, impact-driven leaders who are equipped to transform ideas into sustainable ventures or drive innovation within existing organisations.
