COURSE CURRICULUM

This degree in festival management provides a comprehensive, practice-based journey through the evolving world of festivals, with a strong focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and wellbeing. In the first year, students explore the scale and diversity of the festival industry, examining attendee experiences, wellbeing, and the foundations of promotional communication. They gain hands-on experience through live production management while developing an understanding of sustainable development and its complexities. Students work collaboratively to design and deliver a live festival event, deepening their understanding of festival operations such as volunteer coordination, health and safety, and stakeholder engagement. They also learn to craft grant funding proposals and manage projects using both traditional and agile methods. The final year prepares students for entry into the professional world, enhancing their leadership and crisis management skills while encouraging ethical and creative thinking. They take on a final live event project that reflects sustainable and inclusive practices and develop a professional portfolio.
