COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year degree in Post-Production and Visual Effects offers a comprehensive journey through the essential and advanced elements of audio, video, and VFX, preparing students for specialist careers in the creative industries. In the first year, students build foundational skills and technical knowledge across all three strands, working with industry-standard tools and facilities. They learn the basics of audio post-production, video editing with tools like Avid Media Composer, and key VFX techniques such as storyboarding, previsualisation, and compositing. The curriculum is structured to help students develop confidence and a solid portfolio through collaborative projects and hands-on practice.In the second year, students deepen their expertise and begin to define their areas of specialisation—whether in editing, sound design, VFX supervision, or related roles. Advanced modules build proficiency in sound mixing, colour grading, motion graphics, and more complex VFX production. A collaborative module encourages interdisciplinary teamwork, while a dedicated project allows students to showcase their progress in a real-world context.The final year focuses on professional readiness, creative independence, and portfolio development. Students participate in large-scale or entrepreneurial projects, often collaborating with peers from film, animation, games, and prosthetics. A pre-production module sets the foundation for the Final Major Project, where students produce a complex, industry-standard piece of work. Alongside this, the Futures module helps students prepare for employment with tailored support in building professional profiles. The degree culminates in a refined showcase of skills, positioning graduates for successful careers in post-production, sound, or visual effects across film, television, and digital media sectors.
