COURSE CURRICULUM

This Musical Theatre degree is designed to nurture versatile performers through progressive training across acting, singing, and dance. In the first year, students focus on building core skills in all disciplines, developing vocal capabilities, physical storytelling techniques, character development, and text analysis. Modules such as Movement & Singing: Foundational Techniques, Histories & Contexts of Musical Theatre, and Acting & Text: Core Skills establish a strong base in performance, technique, and theoretical understanding. Dance and voice training in styles like ballet, tap, and jazz are introduced to help students build posture, strength, and musicality.In the second year, students refine their skills and begin developing a portfolio of work. They deepen their technique in acting, singing, and movement through modules such as Dance & Movement: Developing Techniques and Singing, Acting & Voice: Developing Techniques. A major highlight is the Musical Theatre Project, where students rehearse and perform as an ensemble, integrating their performance abilities. The year also includes focused professional preparation, with training in CV development, self-marketing, and audition techniques.In the final year, the focus shifts to becoming an industry-ready performer. Students participate in masterclasses, workshops, and talks with professionals. They engage with current trends and explore the creation of new work in the Musical Theatre Futures module. The final stage includes a fully supported public production and a showcase to present their refined skills. By graduation, students are equipped with professional-level performance techniques, creative adaptability, and the tools needed for sustainable careers in the musical theatre industry.
