The Graphic Design BA(Hons) degree offers a progressive, hands-on journey through the evolving world of design. In the first year, students are immersed in creative exploration, encouraged to question and experiment with new processes while developing core skills in storytelling, collaboration, and visual communication. Through modules like "Design is?", "Design from", and "Design beyond", students learn foundational design principles, explore the historical and theoretical roots of the discipline, and begin to shape their personal creative direction. The second year deepens practical skills while introducing more critical, ethical, and conceptual thinking. Modules such as "Design for", "Design against", and "Design towards" push students to consider the role of graphic design in branding, activism, and social change. They are challenged to think critically about their responsibilities as designers and develop self-authored projects addressing real-world issues. Collaborative, research-led studio work continues in the "Design with" module, building experience in interdisciplinary and team-based contexts. In the final year, students consolidate their skills, define their design identity, and build a professional portfolio. Modules like "Design as", "Design works", and "Design is!" support the development of self-initiated or client-based projects, preparing students for diverse careers in design. The final "Design with" module positions them as leaders in collaborative, research-driven work, tackling real-world design challenges with creativity and purpose.
