COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fine Art degree is structured over three years, guiding students from foundational exploration to professional practice. In the first year, students engage in technical workshops and inductions to explore diverse artistic methods, materials and concepts. Emphasis is placed on collaboration and experimentation, allowing students to develop their own artistic voice while gaining exposure to historical and contemporary art contexts. Through modules such as Press Play and Practice in Context, students learn to take creative risks, reflect critically, and begin to articulate their practice, culminating in a collaborative group exhibition. In the second year, the focus shifts to expanding and situating artistic practice within broader professional and theoretical frameworks. Students engage in critical art discourses, deepen their research methodologies, and explore how their work communicates with audiences and environments. They also work collaboratively to plan and deliver a public-facing arts event, gaining experience in project management and teamwork. In the final year, students establish a professional level of autonomy in their practice. Through an in-depth research project and modules such as Practice as Research and Realisation, they refine their conceptual frameworks and produce a final public exhibition. The program supports students in building entrepreneurial and professional skills, expanding industry networks, and preparing for careers in the creative industries.
