COURSE CURRICULUM

The Esports & Livestreaming BA(Hons) degree provides a comprehensive, practice-led education in the rapidly expanding digital entertainment industry. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in esports production, livestreaming tools, digital creativity, and data handling. Modules explore the end-to-end delivery of live-streamed content, while introducing digital media ethics, intellectual property rights, and the collaborative nature of content creation through multidisciplinary teamwork. In the second year, the course becomes more focused and applied, with students undertaking solo and group projects to deepen their practical experience. They learn how to plan and execute esports events, study how game design affects audience engagement, and explore the historical, social, and legal frameworks that shape the esports industry. Social media marketing is also introduced, highlighting how platforms drive brand awareness and audience growth. The final year emphasizes industry readiness and professional development. Students create a professional portfolio and take on a major collaborative project involving the planning and execution of a full-scale esports broadcast. Modules focus on entrepreneurship, career preparation, and an in-depth theoretical exploration of the future of games and esports. By the end of the degree, graduates are well-equipped with the technical, creative, and strategic skills required for careers in livestream production, content creation, esports event management, marketing, and beyond.
