This Creative Events Management degree offers a comprehensive and hands-on approach to learning how to plan, deliver, and evaluate diverse events. In the first year, students build a solid foundation in event management, exploring attendee experience, sustainability, wellbeing, and promotional communications. They gain insight into the contemporary events industry and its impact, while working in teams to design and deliver a live event. Modules also develop presentation and teamworking skills, providing an understanding of the planning process across different types of organisations and event contexts.The second year deepens this knowledge with a focus on finance, legal considerations, research, and the use of data in event planning. Students work on both live digital and corporate event projects, learning how to manage events from concept through to execution and review. They also study project management approaches, including agile and waterfall methods, and explore collaborative working through design thinking. This stage of the course encourages a more strategic and confident approach to event management, equipping students with practical and analytical skills.In the final year, students expand their leadership and crisis management abilities while refining their project management and decision-making skills. They develop a professional portfolio to support future career goals and conduct a research project on a topic of personal interest. The culmination of the degree is the Final Major Event Project, where students work in teams to research, design, implement, and evaluate a large-scale event. This capstone project integrates everything they’ve learned, from setting objectives and ensuring accessibility to managing crowds and assessing the event’s impact. Through a balance of theory and practice, the course prepares graduates to enter the events industry with the confidence, creativity, and expertise to produce meaningful, inclusive, and innovative experiences.
