COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Construction Project Management program offers a structured set of modules designed to equip students with the technical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical expertise required for effective project management in the construction industry. The course begins with building economics, which provides an understanding of economic principles, cost management, and financial decision-making as applied to construction projects. Project appraisal and finance further develop students’ ability to evaluate the financial feasibility of projects, assess investment options, and manage budgets efficiently. Procurement strategy covers the planning and management of supply chains, contracts, and materials, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Production management focuses on optimising construction processes, resource allocation, and operational efficiency, giving students practical insight into the coordination of complex construction activities. Project management modules provide the frameworks and methodologies needed to plan, execute, and control construction projects, while project risk management equips students with strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle. The program culminates in a dissertation, enabling students to undertake independent research on a relevant construction project or management topic, applying both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
