COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum includes core modules such as Osteoprofiling, Palaeopathology, and Research and Study Skills in Archaeological Science. Students also undertake a dissertation on a chosen topic in bioarchaeology. Optional modules may include Isotope Geochemistry in Archaeology, Themes in Palaeopathology, or Forensic Anthropology. The program emphasizes hands-on experience with human skeletal collections, analytical techniques like stable isotope analysis, and statistical methods for data interpretation. Teaching methods combine lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and independent research. Assessment is through essays, reports, presentations, and the dissertation. The course structure allows for flexibility, with full-time students completing in one year and part-time over two years.
