COURSE CURRICULUM

The course consists of 3 core modules, 3 optional modules and a dissertation (which may be a consultancy project with a local business or other organisation). Core modules: Data Science (30 credits), Programming for Data Science (30 credits), Data Science Research Project (60 credits). Optional modules: Previously, a selection of the following options have been offered: Machine Learning, Computational Social Science, Multilevel Modelling, Advanced Statistics for Psychology and Health, Statistical Modelling, Applied Statistics, Statistical Analysis for Business Intelligence, Data Acquisition, Advanced Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Analysis and Visualisation, etc. The curriculum is designed to provide a balanced view of both the principles and practical techniques of contemporary data science, underpinned by a rigorous training in research methods and computational thinking.
