COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Archaeology is a 180-credit program. It consists of a number of elements: core research and practical skills training modules (normally 30 credits); optional modules (normally 90 credits); and a 15,000-word dissertation (60 credits). The core modules include Research and Study Skills in Archaeology and Research Topics in Archaeology. Optional modules are chosen from a wide range available within the Department, including themes such as Palaeopathology, Artefacts, Isotope Archaeology, and regional or period-specific modules like Mesolithic/Neolithic Europe, Archaeology of the Ancient Near East, etc. The program also includes practical skills workshops and the opportunity to participate in departmental research projects or excavations.
