COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is structured over three years. Year 1 introduces foundational modules: People and Cultures, Human Evolution and Diversity, Being Human, Health, Illness and Society, and Doing Anthropological Research. Year 2 builds on this with Research Project Design, and optional modules like Biology, Environment and Health; Politics and Economics of Health; Evolution, Technology and Human Health; Methods and Analysis; Reading Ethnography; and Society, Energy, Environment and Resilience. Year 3 includes a Dissertation and advanced optional modules such as Anthropology of Ethics and Morality, Global Health and Disease, A Anthropology of Physical Activity for Health, Evolutionary Medicine, Food and Eating, and Power and Governance. Students can also choose modules from other departments for breadth.
