COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured to provide a progressive and applied learning journey in responsible data analytics. It begins with a pre-entry Data Analytics Induction Unit, ensuring students develop essential foundational knowledge and technical readiness. Block 1 introduces Data Mining Techniques and Methods, focusing on extracting meaningful patterns and insights from complex datasets. Students then undertake their First Project in Block 2 or 6, applying early learning to practical analytical challenges. Block 3, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Sustainability and Ethics, integrates analytical tools with ethical decision-making and sustainability considerations, highlighting the responsible use of data in organisational contexts. Carbon Literacy is embedded within Block 1, 3, or 4, building awareness of climate change, carbon reduction, and the environmental impact of digital technologies. Block 4, Fundamentals of Big Data and Infrastructure, develops understanding of large-scale data systems, storage, processing technologies, and supporting infrastructures. In Block 5, Project Proposal, Planning and Project Management, students design and plan their final research or applied project, strengthening skills in project governance and delivery. The program concludes with the Final Project in Block 2 or 6, where students demonstrate integrated technical, analytical, and ethical expertise through independent, real-world problem solving.
