COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Electronic Engineering offers a comprehensive range of modules designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills across key areas of the field. The Engineering Business Environment and Research Methods module explores the role of business in a globalized world, focusing on sustainability, environmental policy, and how industries adapt to challenges such as carbon trading and green accounting. This is complemented by the research methods component, which equips students with the necessary tools to conduct research projects. The Semiconductor Fundamentals and Power Electronics module is divided into two parts: one focuses on the properties of semiconductors, device physics, and emerging materials, while the second covers power electronics, from basic power supply principles to advanced systems, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy power conversion. The Digital Signal Processing, Control, and Instrumentation module covers signal processing techniques for digital signals and images, and control systems theory, with practical applications using tools like MATLAB. Students develop skills in designing and implementing control systems and gain hands-on experience with industrial processes and instrumentation. The Electromagnetic Compatibility and Embedded System module teaches about managing electromagnetic interference through circuit design, grounding, shielding, and software solutions. The embedded systems section introduces students to C programming, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and assembly language for microcontrollers, building expertise in analyzing engineering problems involving microcontroller systems. Finally, the Individual Project module allows students to engage in independent research, applying their knowledge to a practical or theoretical topic related to their course. This project promotes self-organization, critical analysis, and presentation skills, giving students an opportunity to showcase their learning in a focused research context.
