COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Project Management program is structured around six blocks designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of theory and practice in the field. Block 1, Managing Projects for Success, focuses on the project lifecycle and equips students with essential planning techniques and tools to ensure effective execution, management, and control of projects. Block 2, Responsible Project Management, emphasises ethics and sustainability, encouraging students to critically engage with the global political, economic, environmental, and social challenges that impact project outcomes. Block 3, Organisational Project Management, explores how flexible and virtual teams, projectification theory, and governance structures like PMOs and portfolio management reshape organisational practices, while also examining leadership and management skills needed in complex environments. Block 4, Project Management Futures, looks at emerging trends and professional frameworks, offering opportunities for students to reflect on career aspirations through self-assessment and development planning. Blocks 5 and 6 are dedicated to the Project Management Dissertation, where students produce a substantial piece of independent work based on research or a live project. This allows them to apply skills in critical review, theoretical application, research design, data analysis, and dissemination, ultimately linking their academic learning to professional practice and future career goals.
