COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health program is structured around a series of modules that integrate academic learning with practical application, guided by the internationally recognised Faculty of Public Health Diplomate (DFPH) exam framework and aligned with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students begin with Public Health Research Methods, covering epidemiology, medical statistics, qualitative methods, and the foundations of public health, linked to goals such as good health, wellbeing, gender equality, and clean energy. Health Protection and Health Promotion follows, addressing strategies for disease prevention and wellbeing promotion, aligned with SDGs on climate action and zero hunger. Health Information focuses on field epidemiology, statistics, and health data management, connected to goals on clean water, sustainable cities, and innovation. Medical Sociology, Social Policy, Health Economics, and Equity develops an understanding of how social, cultural, and economic factors influence health, supporting SDGs such as quality education, decent work, and poverty reduction. Healthcare Public Health examines systems, organisations, leadership, and further concepts in healthcare public health, tied to goals on reduced inequalities, justice, responsible consumption, and partnerships. The program culminates in a practicum, where students apply their learning through real-world projects, building professional skills to address global public health challenges effectively.
