In Year 1, students start with *Block 1: Database Design and Implementation*, where they learn how to design, interact with, and protect data in relational databases using SQL, through workshops, practical sessions, and seminars. *Block 2: Fundamental Concepts of Computer Science* introduces key topics such as mathematics, software modeling, the software lifecycle, user interface design, and ethics, with a mix of workshops, exercises, and seminars for applied learning. *Block 3: Computer Programming* focuses on developing software solutions by analyzing problems and applying sound coding principles and unit testing, taught through workshops and practical programming. Finally, *Block 4: Operating Systems and Networks* provides foundational knowledge in computer architecture, operating systems, and computer networks, blending theoretical lectures with hands-on laboratory sessions for practical application and experimentation. Each block involves a combination of workshops, seminars, practical work, and self-directed study to reinforce learning and provide real-world applications.In Year 2, students begin with *Block 1: Object-Oriented Design and Development*, which focuses on object-oriented library and application development, teaching students how to design, implement, and test medium-scale software systems using Java, along with navigating domains like Collections, Input/Output, and Graphical User Interfaces, through workshops and practical programming. *Block 2: Data Structures and Algorithms* covers essential data structures (such as stacks, queues, lists, trees, and hash tables) and algorithms for sequential and parallel execution, exploring performance characteristics and coding issues like modularity and object mutability, with hands-on workshops and labs. *Block 3: Web Application Development* provides a comprehensive understanding of web technologies, emphasizing both front-end user interface design and back-end scripting, while addressing security, accessibility, and design principles, taught through workshops, labs, and self-directed study. Finally, *Block 4: Agile Development Team Project* gives students the opportunity to work in teams on an agile software development project, where they develop and complete software systems with CRUD functionality, engaging in workshops, seminars on ethical issues, and practical lab sessions. Each module combines theoretical concepts with practical programming, allowing students to develop their skills through a blend of workshops, practical work, seminars, and self-study.In Year 3, students have the opportunity to choose one of the Block 4 options. *Block 1: Software Development: Methods and Standards* explores the regulatory and methodological environment of software development, focusing on agile approaches like Scrum and DevOps, and integrating industry standards such as ISO27001 for security and ISO27005 for risk management, delivered through lectures and seminars. *Block 2: Big Data and Machine Learning* introduces machine learning and its application to Big Data, focusing on the practical use of tools like Apache Spark and machine learning algorithms, with a focus on analytics and data mining techniques, taught through lectures, workshops, and practical sessions. *Block 3/4: Development Project* allows students to demonstrate practical and analytical skills by working on a self-directed project with supervisor guidance, synthesizing information and developing quality solutions. The optional *Functional Programming* module teaches the core concepts of FP using modern languages, while *Advanced Web Development* further develops full-stack web application design, server-side scripting, and data persistence techniques, with an emphasis on interactive applications. The *Fuzzy Logic and Inference Systems* module covers fuzzy logic for handling uncertainty and creating inference systems, with a strong focus on practical lab work.
