COURSE CURRICULUM

The Data Analytics and Computing course provides a structured progression over three years, designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in data-driven industries. In the first year, students build foundational computing skills, covering essential topics such as programming in Python, data analytics, statistics, and information systems analysis alongside database design. This sets the stage for developing analytical thinking and technical competence. In the second year, the focus shifts to advanced applications, including higher-level statistics for business, advanced business modelling, and business systems solutions. Students also begin work on their Final Year Project, integrating their learning into a practical research or industry-based project that demonstrates their problem-solving and analytical skills. The third year continues the advanced curriculum, allowing students to refine their expertise in statistics, modelling, and systems solutions, while completing their Final Year Project to a professional standard. Additionally, students have the option to select specialized modules to tailor their learning toward specific career interests. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on applying theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts, developing technical proficiency, critical thinking, and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data. This program prepares graduates for careers in data analytics, business intelligence, system design, and consultancy, providing a solid foundation for both professional practice and further academic study.
