COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured over three years to support the progressive development of knowledge, clinical competence, and professional confidence in adult nursing practice. In Year 1, students complete their first practice experience alongside foundational academic modules that introduce anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, providing essential understanding of how the human body functions in health and illness. Modules exploring influences on wellbeing and the foundations of nursing practice help students develop core skills, professional values, and an awareness of patient-centred care. Year 2 builds on this base through a second practice experience and a stronger focus on research and evidence-based practice, enabling students to understand how research informs safe and effective care. Learning is further enhanced through modules on primary and acute care patient journeys, which explore care delivery across different healthcare settings. In Year 3, students undertake their final practice experience while developing advanced skills in critical inquiry and research proposal design. Modules on leadership, service improvement, and managing complexities in nursing practice prepare students for professional accountability, decision-making, and leadership responsibilities. Across all three years, theory and practice are closely integrated, ensuring graduates are well prepared to deliver high-quality, compassionate adult nursing care.
