The Military Electronic Systems Engineering MSc offers comprehensive training in advanced military electronic systems, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to design, analyse, and operate complex sensor, communication, and electronic warfare systems. Core modules cover electromagnetic propagation and devices, signal processing and statistics, electro-optics and infrared systems, communications principles, radar principles, and modern communications systems, providing a solid foundation in both theory and practical applications. Students learn to understand and assess antennas, propagation models, radar and sensor performance, modulation techniques, signal detection, and data analysis, while also exploring electro-optical systems and infrared technologies. The program emphasizes the integration of hardware and software systems, modelling and simulation, and network architecture, highlighting vulnerabilities and protective measures in military contexts. Elective modules extend knowledge into advanced areas such as radar electronic warfare, communications electronic warfare, advanced radar techniques, and advanced sensor data processing, enabling students to analyse electronic threats, implement countermeasures, and optimise system performance. Graduates develop the ability to evaluate system capabilities, design and implement communications and radar architectures, apply sophisticated signal and image processing techniques, and anticipate emerging technology trends.
