COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Capability Management MSc equips students with the skills to manage, analyse, and strategically apply information within complex organisational and digital environments. The course covers foundational knowledge in information systems, including terminology, technologies, and systems modelling, and develops professional awareness of legal, ethical, regulatory, and social issues relevant to information management. Students gain expertise in program and project management for information systems, learning to coordinate portfolios of projects, lead teams, and deliver outcomes aligned with strategic objectives. The program emphasizes systems thinking to understand complex organisational contexts and adapt to change, alongside software engineering and development methodologies to design, implement, and maintain software-intensive systems. Modules on methods, tools, and systems architecture provide frameworks for planning, developing, and assessing information systems in line with enterprise strategy. Students also explore emerging technologies, data modelling, storage and management, data-led decision support, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, enabling them to assess technological trends, extract actionable intelligence from data, and manage risk in cyber and organisational contexts. The MSc combines theoretical foundations with practical applications, preparing graduates to evaluate digital infrastructure, make informed strategic decisions, and implement effective information systems, ensuring organisations can harness information for operational and strategic advantage in a rapidly evolving digital world.
