The MSc Finance and Management program offers a comprehensive blend of core and elective modules designed to develop analytical, practical, and strategic skills essential in the finance industry. Core modules such as Corporate Finance focus on key financial decisions involving investment, capital structure, and payout policies, while Financial Data Analytics equips students with statistical tools to handle financial data effectively. Business Accounting provides a dual perspective on financial and management accounting, enabling students to interpret financial statements and assess internal costs. Responsible Banking explores evolving retail banking landscapes, pricing strategies, lending dynamics, and innovations in digital finance. Economics for Financial Markets delivers foundational micro and macroeconomic theories, tying them to real-world financial market dynamics. In Valuation and Financial Modelling, students learn to build models for equity and firm valuation, utilizing discounted cash flow and other methods. Applied Research Methods guides students through empirical finance research, including formulating questions and evaluating methodologies. Investment and Portfolio Management addresses asset allocation, risk management, and performance evaluation, integrating derivatives for portfolio protection. Derivatives and Financial Risk Management delves into instruments like futures, options, swaps, and their application in hedging risks. The Financial Markets, Regulation and Ethics module examines global market structures, ethical conduct, regulatory frameworks, and governance mechanisms. Students choose two electives, such as Private Equity, which covers the PE lifecycle and value creation; Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring, which explores financial strategies for corporate changes; or Fixed Interest Securities and Credit Risk Modelling, which analyses bond markets and risk techniques. Other electives include International Finance, focusing on exchange rate and interest rate risk; International Public Finance and Taxation, which discusses public sector finance and budgeting; and Digital Banking, FinTech and Artificial Intelligence, which critically evaluates technological transformation in financial services.
