The course in Environmental Management and Sustainability provides a comprehensive approach to understanding and addressing environmental challenges. The Environmental Management Systems, Auditing, and Communication module explores the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) like ISO 14001 and the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme to improve organizational performance and meet sustainability objectives. It covers environmental audits, impact assessments, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) with real-world case studies. Environmental Governance, Ethics, and Policy delves into the complexities of environmental governance, ethical decision-making, and policy development, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement in policy implementation. The Sustainable Resource Management and Life Cycle Thinking module focuses on sustainable resource management within a circular economy, utilizing techniques like life cycle assessment (LCA) to develop strategies for resource management and enhance problem-solving skills. Spheres of the Environment and Climate Change Adaptation explores the interactions between various environmental spheres (such as the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere), equipping students with the knowledge to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to solve environmental problems. The Research Project module allows students to plan, design, and conduct independent research on sustainability topics, with guidance from academic experts, developing essential research skills in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
