COURSE CURRICULUM

This section of the program provides an in-depth exploration of advanced topics related to renewable energy management and systems integration. The Management of Renewable Energy Resources, Projects, and Risks module focuses on the technical and managerial aspects of renewable energy projects, including project planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. Students will learn to identify and mitigate risks while evaluating renewable energy projects and leading sustainable energy transitions. In the Global Energy Systems and Transitions module, students explore the transformation of traditional energy systems, addressing climate change, the social cost of energy, and the challenges of transitioning to renewable energy systems. This module emphasizes energy system modeling and evaluating energy use across various sectors. The Sustainable Development and Energy Systems Integration module delves into sustainability principles, decarbonization, and the integration of renewable energy into energy systems, enabling students to assess the environmental, social, and economic impacts of energy projects and develop resilient, flexible systems. Energy Economics, Investment, and Carbon Trading provides insights into microeconomic principles applied to energy markets, including energy supply and demand, investment strategies, carbon trading, and market mechanisms for climate change mitigation. Lastly, the Research Project module allows students to apply their research skills to design and execute an independent project in a technical area of their discipline, refining their ability to plan, manage, and analyze research in industrial, commercial, or academic contexts. This combination of modules equips students with the knowledge and skills to address contemporary challenges in energy systems, sustainability, and economics.
