Students also develop skills in evaluating nutritional assessment methods and dietary guidelines, considering variations across populations, life stages, and global contexts.Nutrition for Population Health focuses on the wider social, psychological, and political factors that influence eating habits and health outcomes. It explores how social determinants such as income, education, and environment contribute to global health inequalities, and how public policies can shape healthier communities.Communication, Entrepreneurship and Food Systems introduces students to essential business, legal, and communication skills. The module encourages innovation in developing sustainable food products or services, while addressing legal and ethical responsibilities. It helps students think critically about food systems and their impact on health and sustainability.Nutrition in Diseases looks at the links between diet, lifestyle, and the development of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Students learn to assess dietary risk factors and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions used to prevent and manage disease across global populations.The Independent Research Project allows students to apply the knowledge and research skills gained throughout the course. They will design and conduct a research study, formulate questions, analyse data, and present their findings in a report styled after a professional journal article.Altogether, this course builds strong scientific foundations, enhances critical thinking and research skills, and prepares students for a variety of roles in clinical practice, public health, food innovation, or further academic study.
