COURSE CURRICULUM

The modules within the MSc Psychology program are structured to provide a strong foundation in psychological theory, research skills and applied understanding. Project Planning and Ethics introduces students to ethical principles, governance and professional standards in psychological research, supporting the development of responsible and well-designed projects. Research Methods in Psychology builds essential skills in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including research design, data collection, statistical analysis and critical evaluation of evidence. Biological and Cognitive Psychology focuses on the scientific study of brain function, cognition and behaviour, examining neural processes, perception, memory and models of human thinking. Social and Individual Differences explores how behaviour is shaped by personality, relationships, culture and social contexts, addressing both individual and group-level processes. Human Development and Diversity examines psychological development across the lifespan, from early life to older adulthood, with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion and social influences. The Independent Research Project allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to a substantial piece of original research aligned with their academic or professional interests. Together, these modules develop analytical thinking, research competence and ethical awareness, preparing graduates for further professional training, research pathways or applied roles in psychology-related fields.
