COURSE CURRICULUM

The course is designed for those pursuing a career in investment, financial trading, or risk management. It offers a comprehensive study of both traditional and alternative asset classes, including equity, fixed income, commodities, private equity, and cryptocurrencies. The curriculum consists of several core modules, such as Equity and Fixed Income Strategies and Derivatives, where students will learn to value and price these assets and integrate them into investment strategies. The Hedge Funds and Other Alternative Investment Strategies module explores the evaluation and implementation of strategies using alternative investments like digital assets and private equity, with a focus on ESG and green finance. The Econometrics and Algorithmic Trading module teaches students how to use econometrics and machine learning to develop, back-test, and manage trading models. The Market and Credit Risk Management module focuses on advanced techniques for managing market and credit risks, with practical application using programming and case studies.To complete the master’s, students choose between two 60-credit options: the Dissertation or the Internship Project. The Dissertation involves an in-depth research project on a chosen topic, guided by an academic supervisor, where students apply research methods and deliver meaningful insights. If the student has completed a professional placement, their dissertation will be linked to it. Alternatively, the Internship Project offers a nine-week supervised internship, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world projects. They will work with industry mentors, gaining hands-on experience, and developing critical skills in problem-solving, communication, and networking. Internships are subject to availability and university approval, with additional costs involved.
