COURSE CURRICULUM

In the final stage of this finance-focused program, students develop deep technical expertise and critical thinking skills through a comprehensive set of modules designed to prepare them for high-level roles in investment, corporate finance, and governance. In "Capital Markets and Security Analysis," students gain hands-on experience using Bloomberg and LSEG Workspace, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world financial data in a simulated investment environment. This is complemented by "Portfolio and Asset Management," which encourages analytical thinking and strategic decision-making through an investigative approach to fund management and diversification under regulatory constraints. "Data Analysis and Research Methods" introduces core econometric techniques essential for modern financial analysis, such as hypothesis testing, estimation, and modelling, providing the foundation for evidence-based economic and financial decisions. "Corporate Finance and Risk Management" critically explores major financial issues including asset pricing, capital structure, and financial risk in global markets, equipping students to understand and manage financial exposure in various contexts. In "Governance, Ethics and Sustainability," the program shifts focus to responsible financial leadership, examining ethical considerations, corporate governance, and regulatory influence through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students learn how ethical and sustainable practices can align with shareholder interests and societal needs. Finally, the "Postgraduate Project" enables students to synthesise and apply their accumulated knowledge in a substantial, independently driven research project in economics or finance, supported by a dedicated academic supervisor.
