COURSE CURRICULUM

The Energy Transition Management MSc is structured around a set of modules that provide a comprehensive understanding of the technical, economic, and strategic aspects of the global energy transition. Global Energy Systems and Transitions introduces the structure and operation of international energy systems, examining pathways for transition towards low-carbon and sustainable models. Risk and Economic Management of Energy Transition focuses on financial, economic, and risk assessment tools used to support investment and decision-making in energy projects. The Energy Sector, Hydrogen and Renewable Resources module explores emerging energy technologies, with particular emphasis on hydrogen, renewable resources, and their role in decarbonisation. Sustainable Development and Energy Systems Integration examines how energy systems can be effectively integrated with wider sustainability goals, considering policy, infrastructure, and system optimisation. The program also includes a Master’s with professional placement, giving students the opportunity to gain practical industry experience and apply academic learning in real-world energy or sustainability settings. The Research Project allows students to undertake an independent, in-depth investigation into a chosen area of energy transition or sustainable energy management, developing advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills while demonstrating the ability to deliver a substantial postgraduate-level project relevant to the evolving global energy sector.
