COURSE CURRICULUM

The modules in this phase of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering program focus on advanced embedded systems, programming, communication systems, and signal processing. The Embedded Hardware Applications (30 credits) module covers the entire development cycle, from concept to final hardware realization. Students will work with microcontrollers and hardware description language (HDL) design tools, gaining experience in the engineering techniques required for complex embedded hardware systems. In the Embedded Programming and Operating Systems (30 credits) module, students engage in hands-on programming of microcontrollers, learning to incorporate real-time operating systems (RTOS) to address issues in modern embedded devices. Additionally, they explore alternative platforms such as Embedded Linux running on single-board computers. The Intelligent Wireless Communication Systems (30 credits) module emphasizes the design and implementation of wireless intelligent embedded systems, combining software and hardware tools to build practical systems. The Control and Signal Processing (30 credits) module develops an advanced understanding of control theory and signal processing, focusing on their applications in modern industrial systems. Students gain the skills to integrate these methods effectively within industrial contexts. The Individual Project (60 credits) offers a chance for students to apply the knowledge gained from the taught modules to solve a significant engineering problem, often with an industrial or research focus. This project is self-directed, with academic supervision, and allows students to showcase their problem-solving, technical, and independent study abilities.
