COURSE CURRICULUM

The program includes several key modules designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in AI and software development. The Neural and Evolutionary Computing module provides an understanding of neural information processing, neural network models, and algorithms. Students learn soft computing techniques, including fuzzy logic and genetic fuzzy hybrids, and develop the ability to create new algorithms for complex datasets. The AI Systems and Human Factors module focuses on decision-making within AI systems and Generative AI, covering tools such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), and Transformer-based models. The Human Factors for CAV and Safety Management module addresses the interaction between humans and autonomous systems, particularly in the context of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), emphasizing safety management and human-autonomy interaction. The Advanced Software Development module provides students with the tools and methodologies required to develop complex, scalable software systems through team-based projects. Finally, the Individual Research Project allows students to apply research methodologies and data collection techniques to produce a dissertation and software-based product based on primary research. The module emphasizes ethical research practices, time management, and academic writing skills, providing a comprehensive understanding of research design and analysis. Each of these modules is compulsory and aims to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of AI, software development, and human factors. By the end of the program, students will have gained hands-on experience and the theoretical foundation necessary to contribute to advancements in AI and technology.
