COURSE CURRICULUM

The Applied Strength, Conditioning and Rehabilitation MSc features a carefully structured set of modules that combine scientific theory, applied practice, and professional development. The Strength and Conditioning Science module provides a strong foundation in the physiological, biomechanical, and neuromuscular principles that underpin athletic performance and physical preparation. Testing and Monitoring for Performance focuses on assessing athlete readiness and development, covering performance diagnostics, data collection, and analysis techniques used to inform evidence-based training decisions. The Applied Strength and Conditioning module emphasises practical coaching skills, program design, and the application of training methods to enhance strength, power, speed, and endurance across different sporting contexts. Athlete Injury Rehabilitation and Return to Play explores the management of sports-related injuries, rehabilitation strategies, and decision-making processes that support safe and effective return to performance. The program also includes a Master’s with professional placement, allowing students to gain valuable industry experience and apply academic learning in real-world sport, health, or rehabilitation settings. The Research Project enables students to conduct an independent, in-depth investigation into a chosen area of strength, conditioning, or rehabilitation, developing advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills while demonstrating their ability to deliver a substantial piece of postgraduate-level work.
