COURSE CURRICULUM

The Global Healthcare Management and Leadership PGCert consists of two modules, totaling 60 credits: Managing Healthcare Organisations and Health Challenges and Patient Safety. For the PGDip, students complete four modules totaling 120 credits, which include Leadership, Strategy and Change, Strategic Financial Management and Analysis, Managing Healthcare Organisations, and Health Challenges and Patient Safety.The Leadership, Strategy and Change module (30 credits) focuses on developing leadership skills for driving strategic change in complex organizations, exploring theories, models, and real-world case studies to build high-performing teams and align leadership with strategy. The Strategic Financial Management and Analysis module (30 credits) covers financial tools and techniques for strategic decision-making, including financial statements, business performance, and sustainability considerations in financial decisions.The Managing Healthcare Organisations module (30 credits) explores global healthcare management, covering financial strategies, human resources, change leadership, and technological innovation. It provides students with the skills to navigate complex healthcare environments and drive innovation in healthcare delivery. The Health Challenges and Patient Safety module (30 credits) addresses contemporary healthcare challenges, focusing on patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, and the impact of organizational culture on patient safety.To complete the master’s degree, students choose between a Dissertation (60 credits) or an Internship Project (60 credits). The Dissertation involves an in-depth research project on a chosen topic, guided by an academic supervisor, focusing on literature analysis, data collection, and critical evaluation. The Internship Project involves a nine-week supervised internship, where students work on industry projects, develop critical thinking, and gain hands-on experience. The internship is subject to university approval and may incur additional costs.
