Students engage with advanced modules designed to refine their technical and creative skills, preparing them for a career in the music and creative industries. The Sound in Music module allows students to develop advanced projects in music production and composition using industry-standard studios equipped with Neve, SSL, and Audient desks. Students explore topics like non-linear music for games, live electronics, sync music, and signal processing, all within the context of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and recording studios. The Sound in Space module offers an in-depth look at spatial audio, including immersive technologies such as Dolby Atmos and Ambisonics, allowing students to work on projects in games audio, VR/AR, and acousmatic composition. Sound in Code introduces programming techniques for music and sound, including generative and interactive music, and the use of software like Max/MSP and Arduino, while encouraging critical reflection on artistic practices. The Creative Frontiers Project provides an opportunity for independent research, allowing students to explore a chosen area of the creative industries, either through theoretical research or a practical project, such as production, composition, or performance. Collaborative Technologies gives hands-on experience in collaborative settings, where students work with peers from other disciplines on projects involving motion capture, film, and music, developing technical expertise and professional networking skills. Finally, Professional Practice and Innovation examines the creative industry's structure, focusing on sustainability, leadership, and systems thinking, preparing students for the evolving job market by enhancing their professional skills and encouraging innovative thinking.
