COURSE CURRICULUM

The postgraduate program offers a set of modules that foster creative exploration and professional development. In the module "Artist as Player," students delve into the applications of digital and emergent technologies to engage potential audiences. They explore how to repurpose existing materials, objects, or artworks to create new experiences, whether through physical or coded exploration. "Co-Create" encourages students to collaborate with peers from other disciplines in simulated or real-life projects, allowing them to apply their specialized knowledge while building essential skills such as project management and teamwork. This module promotes the development of emotional intelligence, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities. The "Artist in Space" module explores digital environments, examining how contemporary audiences interact with these spaces and the context in which they are experienced. Through creative inquiry, students question the implications of digital spaces on their work. "Professional Practice and Innovation" focuses on understanding the ecology of the creative industries, with an emphasis on the connections between independent, commercial, and public sectors. Students will collaborate with The RSA (Royal Society of Arts) and have access to its resources and platforms, gaining valuable industry insight and a digital credential upon completion. Finally, the "Artist and the Future: Major Project" module allows students to develop a significant creative project that reflects the skills and knowledge they've gained throughout the course. This project culminates in a proposal that outlines the next phase of their creative journey, ensuring they are well-prepared to move forward as professional artists.
