COURSE CURRICULUM

In this program, students explore a broad spectrum of global affairs, international security, and diplomacy through six key modules, all designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The Global Affairs in Action module, developed in collaboration with the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA), allows students to examine real-world issues in global security. It involves workshops and visits to UK security institutions, enabling students to connect classroom theories with professional practices in the field. The Diplomacy and Human Rights module delves into the evolution of international human rights, focusing on the role of diplomacy in protecting rights during global crises. It also encourages students to critically assess strategies for addressing human rights violations.The Security, Warfare and Rebellion module investigates the historical and contemporary dynamics of warfare, rebellion, and international security. Students study key case studies to understand the societal and political consequences of conflict, honing their ability to bridge theory and practice. Managing International Affairs explores peace processes and international relations theory, applying these ideas to real-world events and conflicts. The Resilience, Extremism, and Populism module examines the global rise of extremism and populism, analyzing their destabilizing impact across borders and evaluating strategies of resilience to counter these forces.Finally, the Fighting Injustice in the International System module addresses the threats to democracies and explores practical solutions and policy-making approaches to protect democratic institutions. These modules collectively prepare students to understand the complex dynamics of global affairs and international security, providing them with the knowledge and skills needed for impactful careers in diplomacy, international relations, and human rights.
