COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of your law degree, you will focus on developing essential legal skills and a broad understanding of law across various domains. You will work alongside peers in similar courses to deepen your knowledge and skills, laying a strong foundation for the remainder of your studies. Modules such as English Legal System, Public Law, and Criminal Law introduce key aspects of the law, from the structure of the English legal system to the regulation of state institutions and individual rights. You will also explore Contract Law, which focuses on the legal principles governing agreements, and Applied Law Study, which encourages you to use law creatively to address real-world issues. Additionally, Contemporary Issues in the Law will allow you to critically examine how law evolves in response to social, economic, and technological changes. In your second year, you will continue building on these core areas while exploring commercial law, including subjects such as Commercial Law, European Union Law, and Tort Law. Practical Legal Skills will also prepare you for life in legal practice, helping you develop advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills. Finally, in your final year, you will further refine your legal expertise, particularly in commercial law. You will have the option to work on a project or dissertation in a specific legal area or participate in pro bono clinics. Modules like Commercial Dispute Resolution and Trade Law will focus on resolving commercial conflicts and understanding the complexities of international trade. This year will also allow you to tailor your studies to your specific interests and career aspirations.
