COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year, the course provides a broad foundation across various disciplines in the built environment, with a shared curriculum that fosters collaboration among students from different related degrees. This year allows students to explore key concepts in materials, construction technology, spatial design, and professional skills, giving them an introduction to the core aspects of the built environment. Modules such as Materials and Building Surveying, Construction Technology and Environmental Sciences, and Sustainable Environments are designed to help students understand the technical properties of construction materials, the sustainability challenges in construction, and how environmental issues intersect with development. Students also engage in spatial design and visual communication to develop creative design portfolios and practice teamwork within simulated professional environments. The Professional Skills Development module further equips students with skills like project management, AutoCAD, and cost estimation, preparing them for future roles in the industry. By the end of the first year, students have a solid grounding in key concepts and can pursue a more focused path in the following years, with the flexibility to switch courses if their interests evolve. In the second year, students deepen their knowledge in areas like real estate development, urban design, and legal aspects of property management. The curriculum also emphasizes practical applications, such as representing landlords or tenants in a moot court, and analyzing real estate economics and financial accounting. The final year provides an opportunity for students to specialize further, with modules focusing on advanced property valuation, real estate entrepreneurship, and research dissertations. Students are encouraged to apply their learning through an interdisciplinary project and gain hands-on experience in their chosen field.
