COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the program, students gain a solid foundation in mathematics, preparing them for more specialized studies in the following years. The curriculum is shared across related courses, allowing students to explore core concepts in mathematics, statistics, and physics before progressing to more advanced topics. Key modules include Calculus, which builds on prior knowledge and introduces advanced mathematical concepts; Algebra, which covers modern algebra and linear algebra; Programming 1: Concepts and Algorithms, which focuses on coding fundamentals and computational simulations; Probability and Statistics, which forms the basis for statistical analysis; and Mechanics and Numerical Methods, which teaches Newtonian mechanics and numerical methods for solving real-world problems. The Mathematical Case Studies module offers students the opportunity to apply their learning in creative problem-solving challenges.In the second year, students deepen their understanding of core mathematical concepts such as further calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. Modules include Further Calculus and Complex Analysis, which extends earlier studies to scalar and vector fields and complex variables; Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, which covers advanced topics like eigenvectors and systems of first-order ODEs; Statistical Computing, which focuses on programming skills for data analysis; Partial Differential Equations and Analytical Mechanics, which introduces key techniques for solving PDEs; Real Analysis, which emphasizes rigorous proofs and logical thinking; and Linear Statistical Models, which teaches multiple regression and analysis of variance (ANOVA) methods.The final year consolidates students' knowledge and prepares them for careers in mathematics, statistics, or data science. Students explore advanced topics such as Number Theory and Cryptography, Statistical Methods for Data Science, Machine Learning, and Advanced Topics in Statistics. The Project module provides an opportunity for independent study in applied mathematics or statistics, allowing students to conduct research and develop their critical thinking and communication skills.
