COURSE CURRICULUM

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive education in interactive media, web technologies, and related design principles. The program is structured into three years, with the first year focusing on foundational knowledge, the second year developing advanced skills in interactive media and design, and the final year preparing students for professional work with a major project.In the first year, students share a common curriculum across related courses like Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Interactive Media. Modules include programming concepts, computer systems, data management, mathematical skills for computing, and professional practice. A key element of the first year is the Integrative Project, where students collaborate in teams to apply their learning in a real-world context.Year two builds on this foundation, focusing on more specialized areas. Students delve into user experience (UX) and interface design, web development, and digital media creation. The modules "Desire Lines: User Experience and Interface Design" and "Web Development" teach students to create user-friendly, dynamic websites and applications. A significant portion of the year is dedicated to teamwork, with modules like "Creative Industries Group Project" simulating real-world digital content creation processes. Other modules focus on 2D and 3D animation, graphic design, and interactive media technologies, encouraging students to develop portfolios showcasing their creative and technical skills.The final year of the program is about consolidating skills and preparing for the professional world. Students take modules in innovative storytelling, web API development, visual effects, motion graphics, and advanced technical art for games. The "Interactive Media and Web Technologies Project" allows students to apply their learning to a major project, building a strong portfolio piece with guidance from an academic supervisor.By the end of the program, graduates are well-equipped to enter the world of interactive media, design, and web development with a robust set of technical and creative skills.
