This events management degree spans three years and is designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the global events industry. In the first year, students are introduced to a combination of business fundamentals and event-specific topics. Modules such as Professional and Academic Skills, The Economic Environment of Business, and International Business Cultures provide foundational business insight, while The Global Events Industry and Events Theming and Design focus on creative and operational aspects of event planning. The Contemporary Digital Landscape module introduces students to the role of digital marketing within the events sector, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the industry’s modern context.The second year delves deeper into core event management principles, emphasizing both operational and strategic perspectives. Students explore practical financial planning in Revenue & Procurement Planning and legal frameworks in Business Law for Hospitality, Tourism and Events. Key industry sectors are covered in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE), while modules like Project Management for Events and Digital and Virtual Events offer applied learning through planning and managing live and virtual events. Sustainable Events Management introduces the importance of environmental and ethical practices within the industry, fostering a responsible mindset among future professionals.In the final year, students consolidate their learning through hands-on experience and advanced theoretical work. In Global Events Production, students plan and deliver a real or virtual event, applying everything they’ve learned. Research Skills for the Services & Creative Industries prepares students for academic or applied research in events, tourism, or hospitality. The year also includes Tourism Destinations Management, which highlights the balance between promoting destinations and protecting them from negative impacts. Students conclude their studies with a major project or internship, enabling them to specialise in their interests and transition smoothly into the professional world.
