COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in Cloud Computing prepares students to develop and manage modern cloud-based systems by focusing on the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to address industry demands. The course is designed to build expertise in cloud infrastructure, software, networking, and security.In the first year, students are introduced to core computing concepts, including computer systems, databases, programming, and human-computer interaction. They learn to build web applications using serverless technologies and cloud platforms, gain knowledge in networking and security, and explore how physical and cloud-based infrastructures are integrated. This foundation equips students with practical skills in designing and managing networks and infrastructure in a hybrid environment.In the second year, the course builds on this knowledge with a focus on advanced network technologies, machine learning, and securing cloud systems. Students examine software-defined networking (SDN) and content delivery networks (CDNs) to enhance user experience and performance at scale. They explore artificial intelligence and machine learning in cloud environments, while learning the importance of securing cloud systems through compliance and robust infrastructure management. Practical experience is supported through hands-on projects and exposure to real-world scenarios.The final year centres around a comprehensive cloud project, where students design and implement a complete cloud solution using agile and service management practices. They work on real-world challenges through a project that spans all four final-year modules, integrating cloud architecture, software development, and service delivery. Alongside technical development, students learn to manage IT services, considering business goals and ethical practices.By graduation, students will have developed key skills in cloud solution design, deployment, and management, with the ability to address both technical and business challenges. This degree prepares graduates for a wide range of roles in cloud computing and related technology fields.
