COURSE CURRICULUM

The course offers a structured pathway to develop a deep understanding of economics, finance, and business management across three years. In the first year, students experience a common curriculum designed to provide foundational knowledge in key areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, and business accounting. The emphasis is on building analytical and quantitative skills through modules like Principles of Microeconomics, Mathematics and Statistics, and Business Accounting. The Entrepreneurial Thinking module also encourages students to explore entrepreneurial mindsets and skills, equipping them to think creatively within a business context. In year two, the focus shifts to more advanced concepts in microeconomics and macroeconomics, as well as the application of quantitative methods. Modules such as Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Econometrics and Data Analysis deepen the understanding of economic theory and its practical use in real-world situations. The Operations Analytics module introduces operational research, while the Business Organisation and Management module provides insights into how businesses are structured and managed. A key aspect of this year is the opportunity to design a research proposal, preparing students for more independent research in the final year.The final year aims to consolidate the knowledge gained and prepare students for the professional world. The Strategic Management module teaches decision-making tools for establishing competitive advantage, while Industrial Organisation delves into market structures and pricing strategies. The final project allows students to apply their skills to a research topic of interest, under the guidance of a supervisor. This project, alongside the other modules, ensures students are well-prepared for careers in economics, finance, and business management.
