COURSE CURRICULUM

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in economics, finance, banking, and related disciplines over three years of study. The first year offers a common curriculum, allowing students from various business and finance courses to collaborate and gain a broad understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, and entrepreneurial thinking. Modules such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Business Accounting provide students with essential knowledge in economic theory and financial management. The first year also includes practical modules like Entrepreneurial Thinking and Mathematics and Statistics to develop students’ problem-solving and quantitative analysis skills.In the second year, students build on this foundation with more specialized modules in financial services, econometrics, and banking regulation. The module Financial Services focuses on the operation of retail financial services, including key financial products and the role of FinTech. Banking Regulation and Principles of Banking help students understand the regulatory environment and the core functions of banks. The module Econometrics and Data Analysis provides the tools needed for advanced data analysis, crucial for understanding economic trends and financial markets. Students will also study Financial Markets and Institutions, which deepens their understanding of market operations and risk management strategies.In the final year, students consolidate their learning through a significant project, applying their research skills to a topic of interest within banking, finance, or economics. Advanced modules like Investment and Risk Analysis and Risk Management in Banking provide in-depth knowledge of financial markets, investments, and risk management techniques. The course culminates in the Project module, where students apply critical analysis to a specialist area, preparing them for the world of work in finance or postgraduate study. Overall, this course equips students with the theoretical and practical skills needed for a successful career in the financial and banking sectors.
