COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing is a comprehensive, practice-focused degree that prepares students to become safe, effective, and compassionate registered nurses. In the first year, students are introduced to the foundations of nursing, exploring professional values, health assessment, care delivery, and the social and global factors that influence health. This is complemented by two clinical placements, where students begin applying theory to practice in supervised healthcare settings.The second year builds on this foundation, focusing on therapeutic interventions, complex decision-making, and enhanced holistic care approaches. Students learn to manage more complex health needs and begin working with greater independence during their clinical placements. They also explore the role of research and evidence in improving care delivery.In the final year, students develop leadership and coordination skills, preparing them to manage complex care scenarios, lead teams, and contribute to service improvement. Academic modules focus on evidence-based practice, leadership, and professional development. The final placements are designed to transition students into autonomous, accountable nursing professionals, capable of leading care and supervising others. Upon graduation, students are equipped to register as adult nurses and step confidently into the healthcare workforce.
